I’m Here for You

What should I expect from my first Hypnotherapy or Distance Reiki session?

All first sessions include a free consultation. In this first session, we will go over medical and social history, obtain permission to treat contracts, and gain a better understanding of your treatment goals. I will tell you about myself, my experience as a Hypnotherapist and Reiki Energy Worker, and answers any and all questions. This is our time to get to know each other, and for you to decide if I am the right Practioner for you. If time allows, we will conduct a short Hypnotherapy "test" session or abbreviated Reiki session.

How should I prepare for a Hypnotherapy or Distance Reiki Session?

Before either session, it's recommended that two hours before your session you don't drink any caffeinated or sugared beverages. Don't take any sedatives or stimulants other than prescribed medicine, including THC. If possible, get a good night's sleep prior. It is understood that many seek treatment due to stress or sleep disturbances, so don't worry if this isn't possible for you. Please drink plenty of water both before and after your session. If possible, take some time to meditate or relax in the way that best suits you. Be sure you have the correct ZOOM link, dress comfortably, and be in a quiet and safe space.

How do virtual Hypnotherapy or Reiki sessions work?

Virtual Hypnotherapy sessions are no different from in-person sessions other than you will be in the comfort of your own home or comfortable space. Since you will be in your own space, you will have the ability to feel at ease, safe, and relaxed. The best part is there is no traveling or commuting to a practitioner's office. You can go about your day once we log off with no need to put in extra time or expense of travel. Bonus: Virtual sessions are environmentally and economically friendly, and COVID or other illness safe.

Once we log onto our virtual session, you will be able to see me the whole time. You may have your camera on or off during our session, though I ask you to have your camera on to say hello so I know it's you.

After a quick check-in, for both a Hypnotherapy or Reiki session I will ask you to get comfortable. It is best to you lay on a couch, your bed, or on a reclining chair. If you need or want a blanket, pillow, eye mask please those have available. You may choose to light incense or another form of aromatherapy diffuser to help you get comfortable and relaxed.

Virtual sessions are easy, convenient, and safe. Please reach out if you have more questions or concerns about virtual sessions.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy, or hypnosis, is a type of nonstandard or "complementary and alterative healing arts" treatment. It uses guided relaxation, intense concentration, and focused attention to achieve a heightened state of awareness that is sometimes called a trance. Trance-like experiences aren’t all that uncommon. If you’ve ever zoned out while watching a movie or daydreaming, you’ve been in a similar trance-like state. In this naturally occurring state, with a trained hypnotherapist, a person may focus their attention on specific thoughts or tasks.

True hypnosis or hypnotherapy doesn’t involve swaying pocket watches, and it isn’t practiced on stage as part of an entertainment act.

What does hypnotherapy help treat?

The hypnotic state allows a person to be more open to discussion and suggestions. It can improve the success of other treatments for many conditions, including:

* Phobias, fears, and anxiety
* Sleep disorders

* Chronic pain disorders

* Acute and Chronic Illness

* Depression
* Stress
* Post-trauma anxiety
* Grief and loss

* Before surgical or dental procedure

* Birth anxiety or trauma

* Addiction Support

* Smoking Sensation

* Many more

Hypnotherapy is a complementary treatment and should not be used as a replacement for medical or psychiatric care. Please inform your medical provider or psychologist that you are seeing a Hypnotherapist. If you are having trouble affording medical or psychiatric care, please inform me during our intake session.

What if I can't be hypnotized?

Hypnosis is a natural state of being. Every time you meditate, daydream, or "space out", you are in a state of hypnosis. Most everyone can be hypnotized. It is a myth that some people cannot be hypnotized; everyone has the capacity to relax, to learn, and to be creative. You just need to be open to the experience and not treat it as a test. This is your time, your journey, and your experience.

There are some people who may experience difficulty in falling into a trance. Much of this matters on brain makeup and chemical balance. Those who are neurodivergent, have autism spectrum disorder, or are analytic thinkers may have trouble being hypnotized. This isn't to say that everyone who falls into one or more of those categories can't be hypnotized, it just holds a greater chance at needing more specialized time or simply are not able to be hypnotized. During our intake session, we will go over your medical and social history, including neurodivergent or mental health disorders. Based on your responses and history, I may need to change the type of "scripts" I use. For example. People with ASD may be better suited for scripts that are more direct and give more instruction. While other people may be more inclined to scripts that are more intuitive and metaphorical.

Is hypnosis safe?

YES! Hypnosis is completely safe. It is not mind control or brainwashing. A therapist cannot make a person do something embarrassing or that the person doesn't want to do. While you are in a deeply meditative, relaxed state you are still in complete control of what is happening and your bodily reaction to being hypnotized. Hypnosis works by modulating activity in regions of the brain associated with focused attention. The hypnotic state makes the person better able to respond to suggestions. Therefore, hypnotherapy can help some people change certain behaviors, such as substance use or nail-biting, or help people change perceptions and sensations, such as in pain management.

There is a very small percentage of people who report feeling ‘groggy’ after a session (sometimes referred to as a “hypnotic hangover”). For this reason, it's not recommended to drive or use heavy machinery until you know how hypnotherapy affects you. The majority of people report feeling invigorated, energetic, relaxed, and happy.

Please do share with me if you are bipolar, schizophrenic, or have other mental health disorders. We can discuss if hypnotherapy is right for you.

What if I can't wake up from a Hypnosis trance?

There is no chance of you will not be able to wake up from a hypnotic trance. People enter into and out of trance-like states throughout the day. Have you ever found yourself "zoning out" or daydreaming and then "snapped out of it"? You likely entered into a hypnotic state. Meditating and hypnotic states are very closely related and those who meditate will describe falling into trances.

The worse that will happen is that you will fall asleep. Often hypnotherapy is used for those with sleep disorders to fall asleep and stay asleep. If you were to fall asleep, I will attempt first to wake you up. If it appears you are in a deep sleep, or if we agreed beforehand to let you sleep, I will log off from our call and allow you to peacefully sleep.

What is Reiki?

Reiki comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life energy. Mikao Usui developed Usui Reiki, the most current form of Reiki, in 1922. However, people have practiced Reiki for about 2,500 years.

Reiki is a form of complementary therapy relating to energy healing. A Reiki Practioner works with the energy fields around the body and the transfer of universal energy from the practitioner’s palms to the client. Reiki can be hands-on, hands hover, or distant. Energy medicine aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks within the energic body and the chakra points. Reiki practitioners believe that improving the flow of energy around the body can enable relaxation, relieve pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness.

What does Reiki treat?

Reiki promotes relaxation, stress reduction, and symptom relief to improve overall health and well-being. It can:

  • Bring on a meditative state.

  • Foster tissue and bone healing after injury or surgery.

  • Stimulate your body’s immune system.

  • Promote natural self-healing.

  • Relieve pain and tension.

  • Support the well-being of people receiving traditional medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and kidney dialysis.

  • Much More

Reiki treatment may create feelings of:

  • Peace.

  • Relaxation.

  • Security.

  • Wellness.

What are Chakras?

Chakra (cakra in Sanskrit) means “wheel” and refers to energy points in your body. They are spinning disks of energy that should stay “open” and aligned. They correspond to bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of our energetic body that affect our emotional and physical well-being.

There are actually 114 chakras. Two are outside the physical body. Of the remaining 112, only 108 chakras can be worked upon; the remaining four flower as a consequence. These 112 chakras arrange themselves into seven dimensions. During most energy healing sessions, including Reiki, Practitioners only work with the seven chakras or seven dimensions that run down the human spine. I can work with up to 12 chakras, including the energy fields surrounding the body.

All living things have chakras, including pets. Please ask me about Reiki sessions for your four-legged loved ones.

Will I feel anything during my Reiki Session?

People often report feeling warmth, tingling, or vibration throughout the body, while others feel nothing. You may feel drowsy, lightheaded, or dizzy after a season. I suggest you don't drive or use heavy equipment after a Reiki session and drink plenty of water. The most common experience is an almost immediate release of stress and a feeling of deep relaxation.

How does Distance Reiki work?

As a Master Reiki Practioner, I learned how to conduct a Distance Reiki Session. Distance Reiki is facilitated through the use of a Distance symbol that allows Reiki energy to cross any distance in time or space. It allows practitioners to clear blockages from someone's past and perform Reiki on someone who is not physically present. We all have access to the life force energy, otherwise known as our chi, qi, or prana, that flows through every living being. Distance Reiki is one of many ways to link to and channel this energy for the healing benefit of others. Distance Reiki can be sent to anyone, anywhere, and through time. The receiver must grant permission to the practitioner to receive the energy. Reiki energy won't reach someone who is not willing to accept it. During a Distance Reiki Session, while you are on camera, I'll typically work with a Reiki Healing board, Charka Crystals, and Energy Point Crystals. I may use crystals and stones related to the situation or illness we are healing.

** Hypnotherapy and Reiki are both complementary holistic healing and should not be used in replace of medical or mental health treatment. Hypnotherapy and Reiki can not medically treat disease or illness. There is no guarantee with either of these holistic health practices. Please read practitioner contracts carefully before starting treatment with me or any other holistic health practitioner.

Please inform me if you are having trouble affording traditional medical or mental health care.
